On the afternoon of June 15, 2022, the review meeting of the "Steel Structure Building Metal Enclosure System Structural Atlas" jointly edited by Shaanxi Huabang Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. and China Qiyuan Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd. was successfully held.
This review meeting was organized and hosted by the Standard Design Station of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Construction. Yang Qi, chief engineer and professor-level senior engineer of China Construction Northwest Design Institute, was invited as the group leader. Professor Ma Jianxun of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Professor Yan Weiheng of Chang'an University, Professor Zhong Weimin of the Architectural Design Institute of Xi'an University of Construction Science and Technology, Professor Zhi Jianmin of China Construction Northwest Institute, Professor Yang Xiaoping of Xi'an Architectural Design Institute, Professor Li Cunliang of Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group, etc. formed an expert group to review, and all the chief editors attended the review meeting.
At the meeting, the Standard Design Station of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Construction introduced the meeting agenda and the participating representatives. Pang Shidong of Huabang Construction reported to the expert group on the compilation background, compilation process, consultation and processing results of the atlas, and the problems solved by the atlas in construction on behalf of the editorial committee. The expert group listened carefully to the introduction of the atlas by the compilation team, and exchanged views on the key technical issues and practical applications of the atlas. At the same time, valuable opinions and suggestions were put forward for the further improvement of the atlas, and the name of the "New Structural Atlas of Metal Enclosure and Floor System of Steel Structure Buildings" was changed to "Structural Atlas of Metal Enclosure System of Steel Structure Buildings".
After questioning and review by the experts present, the expert group believed that the compilation of the atlas used QR code information technology for the first time, which was innovative and easy to promote and apply, and provided technical support for the application of new structures of metal enclosure systems of steel structure buildings in our province. The expert group unanimously agreed that the atlas passed the review.
This atlas is suitable for steel structure industrial and civil buildings, with 425 nodes and 178 QR codes. The atlas uses BIM technology, which can be dynamically rotated and displayed, directly understand the hierarchical relationship, and clearly display the form of each component. It has four major characteristics: combining architecture with structure, combining construction with design, combining compilation with discussion, and combining CAD with BIM. The atlas aims to solve common engineering problems, improve the node structure of steel structure buildings, and provide design and technical support for the industry.
The atlas was launched in December 2020, and an editorial committee composed of many steel structure experts was established in January 2021. I would like to thank all the editorial committee members for their hard work, giving up their rest, and participating in 53 seminars on weekends. They also did not relax during the epidemic and discussed and revised through video conferences. After the first draft was formed, we visited the design institute to seek expert opinions. With the support of all experts, editorial committee members and participating units, we successfully completed the compilation of the atlas.
